The baseball world held its collective breath on Monday after Red Sox infielder Justin Turner hit the deck following a fastball that caught him flush in the face. Perhaps the most concerned by the incident, outside of people closest to JT, were Dodgers fans

Thankfully Turner seems to have avoided serious injury.

The veteran broke his silence online on Tuesday morning sharing his appreciation for the outpouring of support.

"Thanks to everyone for all the messages and prayers! I’m feeling very fortunate to come out of yesterday with no breaks & all my chiclets intact. The Red Sox medical staff and Lee Health have been absolutely amazing & I’m going to be back out on the field as soon as possible!

Justin's wife Kourtney shared an update late on Monday that JT had to get 16 stitches where he was hit but thankfully showed no other fractures or trauma outside of swelling.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told media, including the OC Register, that he had reached out to Turner after seeing the incident.

“It was scary. I shot him a text right when it happened. Hopefully he’s fine. I haven’t heard since, but that’s just a scary thing for everybody.”

Justin Turner remains a fan favorite in Los Angeles. And even if he's in Boston for now, that won't be for long.
