New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor has made history.

According to OptaStats, Lindor is the first player in the modern MLB era to record eight-plus hits, multiple steals, multiple triples and multiple home runs across a two-game span.

The Mets have won six games in a row to pull within four games of .500. And Lindor is a big reason why as he has been heating up at the plate.

In his last seven games, Lindor is slashing .429/.515/.929 with three home runs and six RBI. In his last 15 games, Lindor is hitting .364/.448/.745.

Overall, the slick fielding shortstop has raised his season numbers to: .239/.322/.483 with a .805 OPS, 19 home runs and 60 RBIs.

One could make the argument that Lindor deserves to be a National League All-Star, but he told reporters that center fielder Brandon Nimmo deserves to be in the game over him.

Regardless, Lindor's strong play is helping the Mets climb back into the NL Wild Card race. With two games left to play in the first half of the regular season, the Mets sit 6.5 games back of the final Wild Card spot.
