Your San Diego Padres suffered a tough loss on Thursday, dropping their game against the league-leading Atlanta Braves, 7-6.

The Braves came on top with a walk-off win in the bottom of the 9th, and even though the gold and brown made a valiant effort, it wasn't enough. Things didn't start so great for the Frairs, and that was due to another horrendous start by ace Blake Snell.

Snell hasn't looked like once thus far through two starts, and his start on Thursday was even worse.

He failed to reach four innings going 3.2 innings and allowed six hits, four earned runs, four walks, and one home run in a non-decision for his second start of 2023.

Snell knows his game isn't up to par and even called himself out after their Thursday night loss, as he didn't mince any words

“I’m my worst enemy right now,” Snell said. “So get in the (strike) zone, I’ll be good.”

The Snellzilla knows things will eventually turn out.

“I’ll figure it out,” he said. “Got the Mets next. Got to be in the zone and dominate, get back to myself.”

The early season woes for the lefty ace continue. Last season looked similar for Snell, as he didn't get his first win until July and had an ERA of over four through his first handful of starts.

In 2023, Snell has a 7.88 ERA with a 0-1 record and 11 strikeouts through eight innings and two games. Padres skipper Bob Melvin vowed Snell would have a better start to the season, and thus far, things aren't looking too well.

You could say that this is who Snell is. As long as he dominates in the second half and looks excellent going into the postseason, I'll take these early-season woes.
