The San Diego Padres concluded their first three of a nine-game road trip against the Washington Nationals and will remain on the east coast to take on the New York Yankees.

They'll look to inch closer to where they belong in the standings, but it won't be easy for the Frairs, However, they'll look to take a couple of games on the road with the help of their superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. The Padres superstar has been back for a full month now after serving his 80-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). Tatis has seemed to find his groove and is playing great baseball in the process.

Despite his outstanding performance since returning, he continues to face intense scrutiny and criticism for his past transgressions. Now as he and the Padres prepare to face the New York Yankees, Tatis acknowledges that he will encounter a hostile environment filled with rambunctious fans who are not known to be kind to opposing players.

“That’s going to be a good one,” he said. “We’ll see. New York. The good thing is, there’s going to be a lot of Dominicans out there. So that’s on the positive side. But it’s still New York.”

It has been a while since the Padres last faced the Yankees back in 2019, but Tatis is no stranger to dealing with rowdy fanbases. During a series against the Chicago Cubs earlier this season, he experienced the full force of their passionate supporters. The Cubs faithful unleashed a barrage of noise and negativity toward the young superstar as they shouted, "He's on steroids!" Yet, Tatis had his own unique way of handling the situation.

Although the PED suspension has cast a shadow on Tatis' career and possibly more, he remains determined to prove his worth and show that he is more than his mistakes. There is no doubt he is ready to face the raucous Yankee fans head-on. The game still needs to be played, and they'll be priority number one for the righty slugger.
