It appears Friars star Fernando Tatis Jr. will not be suiting up in the Padres' Spring Training match today against the Oakland Athletics. It appears he has suffered a left knee contusion and the team's coaching staff will keep him out for precautionary reasons.

Sammy Levitt and '97.3 The Fan were the first to report on the franchise star's new injury.

"Fernando Tatis Jr. was scratched from today's Padres lineup against the A's due to a left knee contusion," said Levitt.

Tatis is coming off of his best game yet in the Cactus League against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday where he finally broke his six-game streak of zero hits. He was looking a lot more like the Tatis Friars fans fell in love with back in the 2020 and 2021 seasons before he got hurt.
