Former Phillies Relief Pitcher Giles Reportedly Held Bullpen Session

Ken Giles, a former Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher, is ready for his comeback.

Relief pitcher Ken Giles, who opened his career with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2014 and ’15, was scheduled to throw a bullpen session for interested teams Wednesday at Arizona State, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

At least 15 teams were scheduled to be in attendance and medicals would be provided upon request, Heyman reported.

Giles was terrific for the Phillies in those two seasons with a 1.18 ERA in ’14 and a 1.80 ERA in ’15 with 15 saves.

Giles has also pitched for the Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners.

Injuries derailed Giles in ’21 and last season as he appeared in only five games for the Mariners.

Giles is now out to prove he’s ready to make a comeback. It’s unclear if the Phillies were there, but it was definitely worth a look.
