Jean Segura left Saturday night's game against the Cubs after teammate Ryan Braun accidentally hit him in the face with a bat while taking practice swings in the dugout. Braun was taking cuts on the top step and didn't notice as Segura walked behind him.
The Cubs broadcast caught the incident on video (above), and it did not look good. Segura had to be helped to the clubhouse. He was replaced in the lineup by Jeff Bianchi.
There is no word yet as to the severity of the injury, but Segura could easily be looking at a stint on the DL. The Brewers' radio broadcast also reported he hyper-extended his thumb during batting practice, though that injury would not have been enough to keep him out of Saturday's game.
Update, 10:24 PM ET:
Ron Roenicke confirmed no concussion and no fractures for Jean Segura tonight. #Brewers
