As part of the plans for the 2020 season, Universal DH seems like it could be a part of the rule changes for the shortened season. Certain teams could benefit from this new rule change more than others, and SI's Emma Baccellieri joins Madelyn Burke to break down which teams would specifically benefit from the implementation of the universal DH.

Madelyn Burke: Universal DH has long been among the conversation and proposed rule changes in Major League Baseball, but reports are indicating that the rule is one aspect of an abridged 2020 season that is likely to be approved. Joining me now is SI MLB writer Emma Baccellieri. Emma, obviously this is a unique circumstance, the 82 game season being proposed, but which teams will benefit from this universal d.h the most?

Emma Baccellieri: Yeah. You know, an interesting situation, like you said, where this is very good permit being approved in routine CBA negotiations where teams will have a chance to adapt their roster for that. But instead right now we have the situation where it is going to apply. And so because of that, you know, some teams would benefit more than others. And one that's in a particularly interesting spot here is the New York Mets with Yoenis Cespedes who has been injured for most of the last several seasons. And it was finally, it looks like, starting to make a comeback before all of this--he was taking batting practice in March. And so if there's a potential to use him at DH, that would be a really big potential benefit to the Mets.

Madelyn Burke: We've absolutely seen what Yoenis Cespedes can do at the plate when healthy, excited to see that all unfold. Emma Baccellieri, thanks so much for the time.
