Yankees top Prospect Oswald Peraza Dealing With Hamstring Tightness

Yankees top prospect Oswald Peraza is dealing with hamstring tightness.

He is dealing with an injury.

According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, top prospect shortstop Oswald Peraza is experiencing right hamstring tightness in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Peraza has not played for Scranton since Thursday, and has been out of the lineup for the past two days.

When Josh Donaldson went on the IL with a hamstring injury, Peraza could have been a candidate to be called up. However, his hamstring issue of his own likely played a factor in the lack of promotion.

On the bright side, Peraza's hamstring tightness is not believed to be serious and he should be back in the lineup for Scranton in the coming days.

Peraza lost the shortstop competition to Anthony Volpe in Spring Training.

Peraza made his major league debut for the Yankees down the stretch of last season. In 18 games with the Yankees, Peraza hit .306 with a .832 OPS.
