USA's DeAndre Yedlin to headline first MLS Homegrown team
Major League Soccer will be staging its first Homegrown Player game during All-Star game festivities in Portland, and the league released the roster for the event on Wednesday. The game will pit 20 homegrown MLS players -- players who have come through MLS academies -- against the Portland Timbers Under-23 side on Aug. 4.
The match will take place two days before the MLS All-Star Game, which will feature the best players in MLS against European power Bayern Munich of Germany's Bundesliga.
Seattle Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin, who emerged as a promising young player for the U.S. national team in the FIFA World Cup, headlines the Homegrown team.
