Koppenhaver was found with a piece of linen cloth tied around his neck and his face was purple, according to TMZ. The officer then reportedly cut the cloth, allowing Koppenhaver to breathe. Officers later found a suicide note in his cell, the report said.
Koppenhaver is now in an isolation unit on suicide watch.
He is in prison after being charged with 32 separate criminal counts, including assault as well as the attempted murder of Mack.
