Last season, his first under offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, Matt Ryan threw a career-high 16 interceptions. The Falcons offense, which averaged just 21.2 points per game (21st in the league), took most of the blame for a startling collapse: Atlanta finishd 8-8 after a 5-0 start. So Ryan spent time this offseason working on his throwing motion with former major league pitcher Tom House, now a throwing coach for quarterbacks. The Falcons haven’t been to the playoffs since the end of the 2012 season; Ryan shoulders the responsibility of getting them back there.
