Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson is ready to make a bid for Barcelona midfielder Deco. Ferguson is keen to strengthen his midfield with Deco at the end of this season. United star Cristiano Ronaldo and Deco are close pals, and the former Porto ace wants a move to the Premiership. -- Daily Mail

On the verge of winning his first title with Manchester United, Wayne Rooney has been served with a writ by solicitors acting for Everton manager David Moyes. Rooney is being sued by Moyes over allegations made about his former boss in his autobiography, Wayne Rooney: My Life So Far, which was published last July. --

Internazionale striker Adriano has been banned for two matches for diving during Wednesday's Serie A defeat to Roma. The Brazilian went down to win a penalty but television evidence has been used to prove there was no contact from Roma goalkeeper Alexander Doni. --

Lazio is interested in Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc. The Poland international has emerged as a top target for Lazio president Claudio Lotito, who needs to find a replacement for Matteo Sereni after contract talks collapsed last week. --
