The Toronto NBA franchise -- led by first-time G.M. Isiah Thomas -- unveils its team name (Raptors) and logo.

Jake Peavy establishes a Padres record by striking out 16 Braves and helping the team set a franchise mark for strike outs in a nine inning game with 18.
