Jim Bunning
During the first game of a doubleheader, Tiger right-hander Jim Bunning (pictured here in 2008) no-hits the Red Sox, 3-0. The future Hall of Famer became the first modern pitcher to toss a no-hitter in both leagues when he threw a perfect game against the Mets in 1964.
Hank Aaron
Hank Aaron hit his last big-league homer off Angels' hurler Dick Drago en route to a 6-2 Brewers' win. The round tripper was Aaron's 755th and established the all-time major league record for career home runs.
Nick Faldo
At the 121st British Open, Nick Faldo shoots a 272 at Muirfield Gullane to capture the championship.
Ben Curtis
Ben Curtis, an unknown PGA Tour rookie in his first major championship, wins the British Open.
Albert Pujols
At Wrigley Field, Albert Pujols goes 5-for-5, including three home runs and five RBIs, as the Cardinals beat the Cubs, 11-8. The first baseman's first three-homer career game helps St. Louis erase a six-run deficit.
