Did Cowboys' win save Wade's job?

Should Miles Austin's record-breaking day and overtime-ending 60-yard catch and run on a pass from Tony Romo save Wade Phillips' job this time? The appropriate and logical answer is no. The right thing now would be to remove Phillips during the bye week and give offensive coordinator Jason Garrett -- the one-time heir apparent whose career has been a roller coaster ride since 2007 -- the final 11 games to see if he can create a sense of urgency as head coach. Warriors in no rush to trade Jackson

The message was sent to the Warriors' disgruntled team captain Stephen Jackson in the form of a $139,000 dock in pay. Now, the Warriors sit and wait. According to multiple sources, Golden State isn't in a rush to ship away Jackson, who on Saturday was suspended for two exhibition games. A few schools of thought exist. Either the trade offers aren't worth it, they still believe Jackson will come around emotionally, or they simply need him to come back and play decently to establish a better market for him. Maybe it is all of the above. Either way, the next move seems to belong to Jackson. (Contra Costa Times)Comment

Will Titans try Young again?

While coach Jeff Fisher has publicly backed veteran Kerry Collins, it's time for a decision on when to replace the 15th-year veteran with Vince Young. Considering he hasn't played any significant minutes since throwing two interceptions early in last year's season opener, the Titans need to evaluate Young, and there is no time like 0-5 and counting. Fisher inserted Young with 7:26 left on the game clock Sunday night, the Titans trailing the Colts 31-9. When informed by offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger he was going in, Young turned and looked at the scoreboard. Young's body language said he wasn't interested in mop-up duty. Fisher, however, said Young was eager to play. (Tennessean)Comment
