Calipari the king of new social media

Whether or not John Calipari is bending the rules on the recruiting trail, the Kentucky Coach is spreading his message via new social media. Calipari's social networking spans worldwide. And as his top-seeded Wildcats (34-2) have shown in the N.C.A.A. tournament entering Thursday's game in the East Region semifinals against No. 12 seed Cornell (29-4), the competition is not close. Calipari has 1,113,647 followers on Twitter, 138,325 fans on Facebook, and his Coach Cal application for the iPhone and iPod touch sold more than 6,000 applications in its first month, making it the top paid sports application on iTunes less than a week after its debut last month. Reyes says he'll be back soon

The New York Mets may finally have turned a corner, just as Jose Reyes promised a quick return. Until yesterday, being a Met meant always having to say you're sorry. Weird injuries and ailments lingered for months. "To be honest, the way things have gone for us, you figured June," Francoeur said when asked his initial expectations when Reyes was sidelined. But Reyes' hyperthyroid condition settled down with rest, just as doctors said it would. "I'm feeling better," Reyes told The Post on Monday. "I'll be back, hopefully soon." (New York Post)Comment
