McNabb headed to Oakland?

Donovan McNabb a Raider? Don't bet against it. According to sources, Oakland has emerged as the leading candidate to land the Eagles' quarterback because, out of all the teams the Eagles have spoken with, the Raiders have been the most willing to meet Philadelphia's asking price. The AP reported that the Eagles want a top 42 pick in this year's draft in exchange for McNabb, and Oakland has a second-round pick (39th overall) they can hand over. McNabb has one year and $11.2 million left on his contract -- a figure that has scared off other teams, but sources say the Raiders aren't concerned with McNabb's hefty price tag (which includes a $6.2 million roster bonus on May 5) or the fact that he's scheduled to become a free agent after this upcoming season. Should the Raiders go for McNabb, though, it would clearly show they've lost faith in former top pick JaMarcus Russell. (ProSportsDaily)Comment

Phillies' dynasty coming to an end?

With players quickly going the way of dinosaurs, the Phillies may be on their last legs to try for a dynasty. This season, the Phillies will attempt to become the first team since the 1942-44 St. Louis Cardinals to win three consecutive National League pennants. There is no hard-and-fast rule as to what defines a dynasty in the modern game -- though surely it would require at least another World Series title, perhaps two, to go along with the one the Phillies earned in 2008 -- but it is something the Phillies acknowledge is on their minds. Calzaghe admits secret drug sessions

Cornered with a damning dossier of evidence from our detailed investigation, [Joe Calzaghe] had to put his hands up -- issuing a confession of coke abuse and an apology for letting the nation down. The 37-year-old former BBC Sports Personality of the Year -- honoured by the Queen with both an MBE and CBE -- said: "I very much regret my occasional use of cocaine in what have sometimes been the long days since my retirement from the ring. I am fully aware of the bad example it sets to other people and particularly to youngsters and I apologise to my family, friends and fans." (New Of The World)Comment
