While some believe Doc Rivers is the best coach in the NBA, some wonder if he'll switch to TV in 2010-11. [Coaching friends] have been saying they believe he'll take a leave for next season, though if the Celtics win the championship that likely would change. With Doug Collins going to coach the 76ers, TNT is said to be interested in Rivers and/or Steve Kerr. Kerr is in his final season of his contract and while expected to return, this might be a good time to get out on top with questions about whether ownership will pay Amar'e Stoudemire and likely lose him in free agency. Ice thinning under O's Trembley
Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail and principal owner Peter Angelos are perhaps in too-frequent touch lately to talk about the 14-31 club. "He's gotten a larger dose of me than I think he wants," MacPhail said. "He's gotten a heavy dose of me recently, but, obviously, he is more likely to see me when things aren't going well than when things go along as planned." MacPhail would not reveal specifics, but the topic of manager Dave Trembley's job security surely was on the agenda. Trembley's job still isn't safe, but he survived Monday's off day, which seemed like it would be a logical time for him to be replaced if that decision already had been made. Staubach: Cowboys can win it all
Roger Staubach sees a home team playing in the Super Bowl soon -- say, in 2011. "This is a really, really good football team and they have the capability," the Cowboys Hall of Fame quarterback said Monday. "There are probably five or six teams in the NFL that can win it all. This is one of them. They can do it. ... They've got a heckuva quarterback in Tony Romo. This talent that they have, including Felix Jones out of the backfield and Martellus Bennett , he's looking good out there. They've got some really good receivers. They've got some people to throw the ball to. ... With Dez [Bryant]. Felix Jones, [Jason] Witten and [Roy] Williams and you've got Miles [Austin], I think I could still be playing."
