Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is not only gearing up or the start of the NFL season, he's also getting ready for Polamalooza Mane Event, a tournament on Troyshair.com where Jim McMahon, Mike Golic, Jimmy Johnson, Tony Siragusa, Brian Bosworth, John Riggins, Anthony Munoz and Franco Harris will battle for the chance to face Polamalu for the title of most iconic NFL hair style of all time. I recently had a chance to ask Polamalu a few questions about his long locks.

SI.com: When was the last time you had a haircut?

Polamalu: My junior year of college about eight years ago.

SI.com: How often does an opponent pull your hair?

Polamalu: It has only happened once in my career when then-Kansas City running back Larry Johnson pulled my hair after an interception to tackle me.

SI.com: Besides yourself, who do you think has most iconic hairdo in sports?

Polamalu: Sho Nuff from Berry Gordy's movie, The Last Dragon, represents the sport of mixed martial arts very well.

SI.com: Does your helmet start to stink during the course of the game from the sweat combined with all of the hair?

Polamalu: No. Head and Shoulders not only provides with fuller thicker looking hair but also leaves a wonderful aroma inside my helmet.

SI.com: During the course of a hot summer, do you ever think about cutting your hair?

Polamalu: Every time I put on my helmet I wonder why I still have long hair.

Remember the Arkansas reporter who was fired last week supposedly for wearing a Florida hat to coach Bobby Petrino's press conference? Well, the radio station has found a replacement. He just happens to be a former Razorbacks running back who has very little radio experience. Hmm.
