Jimmy is home in Long Island filling out his U.S. Open bracket and asked me to fill in today. Luckily, I have a TV in my cubicle and will be able to watch the lovely Daniela Hantuchova take on Dinara Safina this afternoon in the first round of the tournament. For those not as fortunate, I suggest checking out these SI Swimsuit photos of Hantuchova or this collection of the 25 best bodies in women's tennis. As for the tournament itself, SI's U.S. Open blog has all the latest news and notes from Flushing Meadows.

Not a good weekend for athletes on Twitter. A's pitcher Brett Anderson got in trouble for this picture, which doesn't seem like that big a deal compared to Carmelo Anthony. The Nuggets forward offered a $5,000 bounty to anyone willing to slap celebrity groupie Kat Stacks (in fairness to Carmelo, he claims his account was hacked and he never wrote the tweet).

Total Pro Sports has come up with its list of the nine most annoying sports broadcasters and No. 1 is the human explanation point, Dick Vitale. Usually I have one or two issues with a list like this but I agreed with all the choices. I'm not sure why they chose nine instead of 10. I'd like to add Yankees radio announcer Suzyn Waldman to the list, but she's coming to grips with Roger Clemens' legal troubles. So instead I'll add Fox's roving NFL analyst Tony Siragusa.

Detroit may be an underwhelming 17-63 over the past five seasons, but nobody is pushing around the Lions this season now that Ndamukong Suh is on the team. Just ask Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme, who nearly had his head decapitated from his body thanks to Detroit's rookie defensive tackle.

Brandon Jennings, who I love due to this awesome hairstyle, lost a bet and was forced to dance to Lady Gaga and post it on YouTube.
