With the Vikings firing Brad Childress Monday, Pete Walkup, of Charlottesville, Va., suggested that this would be a good time to remember this epic rant from Jerry Burns, who coached Minnesota from 1986 to 1991. A few things about this rant, before you watch it. 1) It's loaded with f-bombs; 2) Unfortunately, it's filmed sideways; 3) Nothing happens until the 30-second mark; 4) For some reason, I've never seen or heard it before, but it's up there with the Lee Elia and Earl Weaver rants; 5) While listening, try to imagine any coach in the NFL giving the same press conference today. Would. Never. Happen.
Blake Griffin put up 44 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists in a losing effort against the Knicks on Saturday. The highlight of his performance were these two dunks, which drew a reaction from Amar'e Stoudemire.
