Leslie Frazier and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell consider Brett Favre a game-time decision, but the decision to play the banged-up Favre, who didn't throw Thursday, could come earlier than that. Asked if Favre could play even if he did nothing before Sunday, Frazier said: "That would be a tough one. We'd like to see him do something Friday or Saturday. But you know, we would take a look Sunday morning. If he's able to go out and throw the football, move around, it could end up being a game-time decision just because of what he's been able to do in the past. That scenario is still a possibility." Teams hoping to catch Martin's interest
A good deal of the hot stove action is centered in the AL East, where Russell Martin is still getting some attention -- from, according to reports, the Red Sox, Yankees and Blue Jays, as well as another "mystery" team. Guess a lot of people are convinced Martin won???t struggle to come back from that labral tear and fractured hip. ... The surge of interest in Martin, plus the signing of Navarro, however, all but assures the two-time All-Star will not return to the Dodgers next season. Martin hit .248 last season, with five home runs and 26 RBIs in 331 at-bats. (Los Angeles Times)Comment
Denver execs rooting against Big Three?
It may take a small leap in logic to follow this, but any of the Heat's failures may give Carmelo Anthony pause when he considers his next move. The logic, or at least the hope, was that the sight of [LeBron] James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh struggling while playing under a blinding and brutal spotlight might prompt Anthony to rethink the Super Team approach that is clearly so intriguing to him (see Chris Paul's toast at Anthony's wedding). The Heat's losing ways would serve as the latest lesson learned about the merits of team basketball, from the value of a strong supporting cast to the importance of chemistry. (FanHouse)Comment
