Ochocinco flirting with Patriots
Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco, who recently complained of being thrown under the bus by his head coach, apparently isn't thrilled in Cincinnati. And while coach Marvin Lewis has been clear that there is "no option" in his contract, there is a thought that he won't be back with the Bengals. So where will the electric receiver/entertainer end up? Ochocinco [sent a tweet to a Boston Herald reporter] that read only this: "@RapSheet PePe and Bill #EPIC." Pepe, of course, is one of Ocho's alter egos. So he's doing a little flirting. We'll see if coach Bill Belichick passes him a note after study hall. (Boston Herald)Comment
Pistons better off without Rip
Even if fans are chanting, "We want Rip," Richard Hamilton and the Pistons are bound for a breakup. Hamilton and roughly 35 other people watched the Pistons beat the Dallas Mavericks, 103-89, at the Palace on Monday, and it is obvious now: The Pistons are better off without Rip, and he is better off without the Pistons. ... This is a marriage that had incredible highs and doesn't work anymore. The sooner it ends, the better. The Pistons are 3-1 since coach John Kuester started giving Hamilton the old "DNP-JB" ("Did Not Play -- Just Because"). It wasn't long ago that Brian Urlacher was critical of his home turf, but he wasn't as critical as Greg Jennings. Jennings isn't a fan of the grass at Soldier Field, calling it "probably the worst" in the NFL. Jennings noticed Seattle receivers slipping as chunks of the field came up during the Seahawks' playoff loss in the snow at Chicago, and says the Packers will have to pay close attention to their footing in Sunday's NFC championship game. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the NFL will review the condition of the field to see if changes need to be made to make it more playable. (Chicagobreakingsports.com)Comment
