Cuban to partner with Charlie Sheen?

Mark Cuban and Charlie Sheen may become business partners. Cuban confirmed Sunday evening that he's had several conversations with Sheen recently about developing programming for HDNet, the cable network Cuban owns. "You've got somebody that everybody has a whole lot of interest in who's doing some interesting things, to say the least, and we always look for interesting programming by featuring interesting people doing interesting things," Cuban said before the Mavericks' game against the Memphis Grizzlies. "I reached out and we've had some conversations, and we're going to work on doing some things." (

Protecting Brady Pats' draft priority?

Protecting Tom Brady, who remains in a walking boot a month after surgery, may be New England's top priority at the draft. Stephen Neal has retired. Nick Kaczur doesn't want to take a paycut and could be released. Matt Light is an unrestricted free agent and may not return. Logan Mankins is bound only by a franchise tag that may or may not exist going forward under a new collective bargaining agreement. All of a sudden, [Brady's] wall of protection has sprung a few leaks. ... For those who think a pass-rush specialist should be the Patriots' primary draft focus with two first-round picks (slotted at No. 17 and 28) in the draft, there may be some debate over the top priority. After all, what's more important, getting to the opposing quarterback or keeping Brady healthy? (Boston Herald)Comment

Lineup change may be coming for Jeter

No. 2 could be moved to the No. 2 hole. Joe Girardi has maintained all spring that he plans to keep Derek Jeter in the leadoff spot, something he's done in each game the captain has played thus far. Yet there continues to be a push from some inside the organization for Brett Gardner to move to the top of the lineup, a change that would likely shift Jeter back to his familiar No. 2 spot. "The lineup is best with Gardner leading off," one source said. "Don't be surprised if it winds up that way." Jeter has never shown a preference between hitting first or second, which is not surprising given that his lifetime average in the two spots differs by only one point -- .313 as the leadoff man compared to .314.
