Jimmy needed the day off to celebrate Derek Jeter's first good game of the season. As Mr. Minka Kelly was leading the Yankees to victory, the Lakers were ending their season in ugly fashion. With the Mavs holding a comfortable fourth quarter lead, Lakers forward Lamar Odomdelivered a cheap shot to Mavs star Dirk Nowitzki, which was topped seconds later by Lakers center Andrew Bynum's cheaper shot on Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea. It was not a great way for Lakers coach Phil Jackson to end his Hall of Fame coaching career (at least he'll have time to work on his sit-ups). The story of the NBA weekend, however, was Rajon Rondo's triumphant return to the Celtics lineup after dislocating his left elbow during the third quarter of Boston's Game 3 win over Miami on Saturday. This image says it all.

Think your Saturday night was busy? Imagine being Manny Pacquiao. The hard-hitting Filipino defeated Shane Mosley in 12 rounds, shared his post-fight press conference with Paris Hilton and then performed a two-hour concert with his band at the afterparty. The musical highlight of the night was Pacquiao entering the ring to a live version of Eye of the Tiger by Survivor frontman Jimi Jamison.

Buried in a busy sports weekend was the triumphant Kentucky Derby victory by the 20-1 shot Animal Kingdom. The real story of the Derby, as always, were the incredible hats worn by spectators. I'd hate to get stuck behind this guy.

There Was Also a Horse Race

I love Led Zeppelin. I love Nicole Scherzinger. I love the NBA playoffs. What I do not love, however, is Nicole Scherzinger belting out Black Dog every time there's a commercial during an NBA playoff game. Nonetheless, Scherzinger still looks like this and that's why she is today's Lovely Lady of the Day.

Find out how this 24-year-old went from working at his family's hot dog stand in a strip mall to becoming the official voice of the Chicago Cubs.

Best Baseball Story of the Season?

Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander threw a no-hitter and received a Gatorade bath for his troubles ... The Oscars should give Sharks captain Joe Thornton a "Best Actor" nomination for this performance after taking slash from Red Wings right wing Johan Franzen ... Jerry Seinfeld's new website is tremendous.

Congrats to Ron Artest for not being one of Lakers who lost their cool and was tossed from yesterday's series-ending loss to the Mavs. Unfortunately, this still happened to the Laker forward.

When you think of people who are really funny, you don't often think of singer Michael Bolton. That might change after this week's Saturday Night Live.
