Anyway, my sister works in marketing for a company in Davenport, Iowa, and got this press release from the Quad City River Bandits, the Cardinals' Class A team. They are having a 'Circle of Life' promotional series this summer, first giving away baby supplies, then one year of tuition to the University of Iowa, and then ... a free funeral. My sister thinks they are taking things too far. I think it's brilliant, especially with the cost of funerals these days. Here is the release."

We haven't heard much from Kobe Bryant since the Lakers were swept by the Mavericks. He's even been silent about the hiring of Mike Brown as coach and the retirement of his "good friend" Shaquille O'Neal. However, Kobe made an appearance Monday night at a Sony PlayStation event for NBA2K12. He demo'd the new game, did some trash talking and did a hard sell of the game.
