The Tebow era in Denver may be over before it even gets started. The consensus in speaking with a handful of team personnel executives when it comes to one Tim Tebow is this: A trade could happen, but it's becoming increasingly likely the Broncos will keep or cut Tebow because the trade interest is dwindling rapidly. The executives portray the Tebow situation as a complicated one. They believe that while the Broncos are not openly trying to trade Tebow, they say that when teams have recently inquired about him, the Broncos haven't been saying he's off the trading block, either. Again, just to be clear, the Broncos aren't openly shopping Tebow but teams that have asked were told: Make us an offer we can't refuse. (CBSSports.com)Comment
Yankees among teams scouting Harden
The A's had a deal in place to sent Rich Harden to the Red Sox before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, but it fell apart after Boston looked at Harden's medical records and withdrew a player to be named from the original proposal, which also included Triple-A first baseman Lars Anderson. But that failed deal didn't scare off contenders - there have been scouts from potential playoff teams at each of Harden's past several starts, and the Yankees, who need starting pitching, have attended the past two. Khan taking another shot at Adelman
David Khan's next trick attempt will be to talk Rick Adelman out of a threatened retirement. After interviewing six candidates in person, the team is working once again on trying to get [Adelman] to come to town early [this] week to meet with [Kahn], Glen Taylor, Rob Moor, minority partners and other personnel. It's not a done deal yet though, I've been told. Adelman spoke with Kahn about the job at some length on the phone, but didn't come to town for an interview process that has brought Don Nelson, Sam Mitchell, Mike Woodson, Bernie Bickerstaff, Larry Brown and Terry Porter to town. ...
