Jaguars making a push for Tim Tebow?

Florida fans may finally get their man. Tim Tebow could soon be a part of our home team. Sources tell Action Sports, the Jaguars are making a play to trade for Tebow before the trade deadline this Thursday. The deadline was supposed to be [Tuesday]. It was pushed back a couple days because of Superstorm Sandy, which hit New York hard. It just so happens, that's where Tebow plays now for the Jets. Action Sports is working to confirm the possibility that Tebow could be headed home. We've called Jags owner Shad Khan, who said publicly that he would've drafted Tebow. Action Sports also put a call into Jags General Manager Gene Smith, who made a play for Tebow in the offseason. (ActionNewsJax.com)Comment

Mike Brown already on the hot seat

For his part, Mike Brown says he felt more pressure last season, and yet it's certainly part of the Lakers season already. The pressure was on [Brown] yet again on Tuesday night, his new-look Los Angeles Lakers finally taking the floor in the regular season for all the basketball world to see. ... [Said Brown:] "I had other opportunities to go other places, but I wanted that." If Brown is crazy enough to read the clips when he wakes up Wednesday morning, there's little doubt he'll see the sort of knee-jerk reaction from the media and fans that will be the norm all season long. This debut was nothing short of inauspicious, an underwhelming performance in which the Mavericks seized control in the third quarter and never looked back. (USA Today)Comment

Sandy to blame for Astros uniform leak

Astros fans won't have to wait until Friday to see their team's new look. [The new logo] for 2013 and beyond may have officially just moved from baseball's "worst-kept secret" to "common knowledge." That's because a visit to the team's website on Tuesday morning revealed that every player page contained the team's new logo as well as a picture of the player wearing a hat. ... So how did this mistake end up happening? MLB's official Twitter account explains: MLB Advanced Media, in advance of super-storm Sandy, inadvertently posted photos of players in their new uniforms on @Astros.com bio pages. Why an approaching storm might cause someone to hit publish on a future event before heading home to hunker down is anybody's guess. (Yahoo! Sports)Comment
