Jets to part with Tebow and Sanchez?
So long, Sanchise and Tebowmania? In addition to likely parting ways with Tim Tebow in the offseason, the New York Jets are mulling whether to eat more than $8 million in order to cut or trade fellow quarterback Mark Sanchez, according to two sources familiar with the circumstances. The team's obvious preference is to get something for Tebow through a trade, but that may be difficult considering how little he has played and the fact that he has now been bypassed by third-stringer Greg McElroy, who will start for New York (6-8) this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. "You'd think that they'd want to showcase [Tebow] just a little if they want to deal him," one of the sources said. "Do something to increase his value." (Yahoo! Sports)Comment

While USC may have something to say about the final rankings, Georgia is poised for a big finish on the recruiting front. If you are just considering five-star prospects, there is no program in better position than the Bulldogs. ... [The class] could end up being the best on paper that Mark Richt has signed during his career at UGA. The nation's top offensive tackle prospect, five-star Laremy Tunsil and the nation's top defensive tackle prospect, five-star Montravius Adams, could fall Georgia's way, as well as the top inside linebacker prospect, five-star Reuben Foster. ... Is Williams setting up Johnson's ouster?
Was Deron Williams sending a message earlier this week when he mentioned Jerry Sloan's offense in Utah was a better fit for him than Avery Johnson? There are those who believe that Williams knew exactly what he was doing when he spoke of how he yearns for the Utah offense -- for the pick-and-roll freedom under Sloan, whose early retirement, you may recall, was prompted by a disagreement with Williams. Now, Williams was laying the foundation for change again. ... With the belief in the organization that the Nets have enough talent to be a top team in the East -- straight from the top, straight from Mikhail Prokhorov -- it's easy to see that this will land at Avery Johnson's feet if it doesn't get fixed.
