Celtics-Clippers deal not over yet

The reportedly stalled blockbuster could, in fact, be merely a pause. Doc Rivers may eventually end up with the Los Angeles Clippers in a proposed deal that will include players trading sides as well as draft picks. Talks between the Celtics and Clippers have stalled but will likely be resuscitated between the end of the NBA Finals and the start of the draft. ... It has been open season on NBA coaches for the past few weeks. Lionel Hollins led Memphis to the Western Conference finals for the first time and wasn't asked back. Vinny Del Negro led the Clippers to their most wins ever in the regular season and he's gone, too. P.J. Carlesimo, Larry Drew, Jim Boylan all reached the playoffs in the Eastern Conference and were let go. George Karl was the NBA Coach of the Year. (New York Daily News)Comment

Milbury fires more barbs at Jagr

Given a chance to clarify or back off his comments critical of Jaromir Jagr, Mike Milbury pushed in the other direction just a day after blasting Jagr during Game 2 Stanley Cup coverage. Before leaving Chicago to head back to Boston on Sunday, Milbury didn't back off his criticism of Jagr and elaborated on the veteran sniper's game and why he doesn't think it fits with the Bruins current style of play. "He doesn't hustle to get to the right place," Milbury said. "He's smart enough to know where to be, and he'll pick up the garbage." ... Jagr actually led the Bruins attack with five shots Saturday night, but Milbury thinks that stat doesn't tell the whole story. "The first two came off garbage turnovers and he ripped some shots off," he said. (The Boston Globe)Comment

Kershaw wants $225M

Looking for movement in the tale of Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers? There's been some progress in the [Kershaw] negotiations, but word is that he has been seeking about $225 million and talks have gone on too long for people familiar with the discussions to suggest the sides are close to a deal yet. While there's been movement, it isn't known how close the Dodgers are willing to come to the $225 million figure, so optimism can't be gauged at this point. It's also possible he may be willing to come off that figure -- though the deal still has a very good chance to exceed $200 million. It's likely the Dodgers understand the star left-hander should be the highest-paid pitcher, which would put his contract at above the $180 million record Justin Verlander set. (CBS Sports)Comment
