If you follow me on Twitter, you know that one of the greatest shows ever debuted last week. Yes, I'm talking about Jersey Shore. There's really no way for me to fully explain the genius of The Situation and Snookie in this space. You just have to watch -- Thursdays at 10 p.m. on MTV -- to see for yourself. But I can tell you that one of the cast members is a former women's college soccer player, and Writing the Pine has tried to relate quotes from the show to sports figures. Some of these you've seen. Some you haven't. Either way, each one of these 14 pictures is tremendous.
Shaun Suisham Should Buy This Guy A New TV
There's plenty I'd like to say about the people in this video, but I'd end up getting in trouble with the SI.com powers that be, so I'll just say this: Check out what happened when a guy told his Facebook friends that they could shoot his 60-inch television if the Redskins blew their lead against the Saints last Sunday. (Thanks to Eugene, of New Orleans, Sean Cahill, of New Orleans, and Dinesh Selvaraj, of San Francisco, for the link.)
Good News, Patriots Fans
You don't have to worry about Gisele Bundchen going into labor on a Sunday. According to the People.com, Tom Brady's wife gave birth to a boy, but details such as when and name are unknown.
This is an example of an e-mail that makes me smile. B. Bierut, of Charlotte, N.C., says, "Every year when March Madness begins we hear stats about the loss of economic production directly related to employees following the tourney from work. Have any studies been run yet to see if Hot Clicks two-a-days have had a similar impact?" This is an example of an e-mail that makes me sad. Jon, of Albany, N.Y., says, "Hey, Jimmy. I often go to Hot Clicks to check out what new stuff you have. However, I don't believe I have seen any coverage on the Victoria Secret's runway fashion show from Dec. 1 on CBS." Apparently Jon reads often but missed this, this, this and this.
Talk about kicking Charlie Weis while he's down... (Thanks to Justin, of Boston, for the link.)
Commercial Of The Day
This is what the holiday season is all about. (Thanks to Amer S., of Cheyenne, Wyo., for the link.)
