Campus Squeeze has come up with their list of the nation's 20 ugliest colleges and the winner is ... Drexel University. Our biggest surprise was Maryland (No. 20) since we've heard nothing but good things about College Park and UMass (No. 2) because it's our alma mater and deserves more respect. And for those who are wondering, Pepperdine was ranked No. 1 in the list of the 20 most beautiful schools.
We think Missouri fans have every right to be angry that Kansas received an at-large bid to play in a BCS Bowl while the Tigers are stuck going to the used-to-be-prestigious Cotton Bowl. Especially since Missouri beat Kansas just two weeks ago. But money talks, and in this case, Kansas was a lot louder than their Big 12 rivals.
Back to Respectability?
SIOC's Ben Cohen wrote yesterday about how it's time for Duke to step up and hire a respectable football coach to get its program back on track. The Austin-American Statesman got Colt McCoy to reveal what's on his iPod and not surprisingly, it's heavy on country. And we love the Pearl Jam selection (Yellow Ledbetter), but were a little put off by his top choice -- Kenny Chesney's She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy.
Pop Culture Nugget
Forbes released its annual list of the top-earning young superstars and No. 1 was LeBron James ($27 million) followed by Reggie Bush ($24 million), Maria Sharapova ($23 million), Michelle Wie ($19 million) and Mary-Kate/Ashley Olsen ($17 million each).
