Who says there's nothing to do on campus during the summer? Penn State students were shown the first episode of Crime Scene University last night. The show, which is based on the popular CSI, depicts a fictional situation in which four dead bodies are found on campus and two teams of six students have eight hours to figure out who killed them. No word on whether the vastly underrated Marg Helgenberger was involved.
OK, not exactly, but the university has agreed to fund up to $1 million in energy-efficiency improvements to a downtown San Jose jail.
Florida alumni may love their football team, but will they pay nearly $650 to attend a game? That's how much the Gators are charging for season tickets ($224 for the tickets plus a $4,200 donation to the school). If the school can somehow guarantee the presence of this UF undergrad at each game, we're confident attendance will skyrocket.

It's no secret that college students love their beer, so we give credit to the University of Hawaii for convincing Anheuser-Busch to donate 25 cents from every case of Budweiser, Bud Light and Bud Select products sold across the state for improvements to UH athletic facilities.
Anyone whose ever had to carry a full keg more than 10 feet knows that it can be quite a workout. Apparently, the coaches at East Carolina know this as well.
College Candy does a pretty solid job with this list, but we'd like to add one more item -- twiterring.
University of Kansas sports team physician Sean Cupp actually studied this age-old debate and concluded that it's quite OK, as long as its part of your pregame ritual.
We don't mean to dissuade you from going to Subway, whose $5 subs have been an enormous boost to our wallets the past couple months, but be sure to watch out for knives in your sandwich.
