Five Weeks To Go

Our Monday countdown to the first Sunday of the NFL season continues with a look at the Miami Dolphins. Two interesting stories came out of Miami this past week. First, the team has banned fans from using cell phones at practice. Specifically, the Dolphins don't want fans to tweet, update blogs or take pictures or video during practice. However, that wasn't the biggest punishment the team handed out to fans. Not even close. The worst thing the Dolphins did was have T-Pain update the team's fight song, which resulted in this debacle. At least the team has a solid cheerleading squad -- which seems to enjoy the beach) -- highlighted by the lovely Ariana.
While We Wait For The Real Games ...

Just because we're counting down until the start of real games, that doesn't mean we shouldn't enjoy the rituals of training camp, especially veterans giving rookies the worst haircuts you'll ever see.

Bizarre Incident Leads To More Bizarre Comment

In case you missed it yesterday, home plate umpire Ed Rapuano threw Shane Victorino out of yesterday's Marlins-Phillies game -- WHILE HE WAS IN CENTER FIELD! But all seems to be OK between Victorino and Rapuano, and now they can get back to playing an, um, fun awkward game.

It's All Fun And Games At USC

Nobody will be surprised that this is what happens during a Pete Carroll team meeting.

Hate These Guys

Hugging Harold Reynolds has done the impossible and come up with a sports movie list we haven't seen before: film's best obscure townie jocks.

You Knew It Was Coming

Get your NFL Snuggie. Actually, it's not called the Snuggie. It's called the Huddler! (Thanks to Jeff, of Franklin, Tenn., and Emilie, of Seminole, Fla., for the link.)

Oh, Yeah ...

You didn't think I'd go through all the links without mentioning a certain four-game sweep in the Bronx over the weekend, did you? Anyway, the biggest thing to come out of the latest Yankees-Red Sox series was the ineptness of the Boston batters. The second-biggest thing was Alex Rodriguez coming through in big situations. What could possibly be the reason for this nice development (if you're a Yankees fan)? Thank this person.

Spoof Of The Day
When it comes to commercials, Shawn Johnson is known for a poorly worded Ortega ad. However, she comes off a little better in this homemade Coors Light spoof.
Ballgirl Video Of The Day

Via's Arash Markazi comes this clip in which the Nationals' ballgirl shows that she knows how to make the best of a bad situation.
