Sports fans see and hear a constant stream of predictions. Most are wrong. However, Sporting News not only nailed the Packers' 15-1 regular-season record in its Aug. 29 issue, the magazine even successfully predicted that Green Bay's lone loss would come against Kansas City. That's impressive.(Thanks to Brian Wagner, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., for the link.)
BulliesGuyism.com posted this last week, but it got lost in the holiday shuffle. They have found the dirtiest high school basketball team in the world. The school, the coaches, and the referees should be embarrassed.

Not NecessaryDuring Sunday night's Cowboys-Giants game, I tweeted that it was lame and cheesy for NBC to pipe in Salsa music after Victor Cruz's touchdown. (Cruz does a nifty Salsa dance after each touchdown.) There was some controversy on Twitter about whether NBC piped in the music or whether it game from the stadium. NBC, of course, is the same network Bob Costas was on a few weeks ago when he went off about premeditated touchdown celebrations in the NFL.

Soulra XLMike Reed, of Columbus, Ohio, is the winner of the Hot Clicks Pick NFL 'Em Contest. With the help of his 17-year-old son, Nick, Reed went 157-99 for the season. He would've made out nicely had he been betting legally (of course). But for this contest, he's won a Soulra XL, a portable sound system for iPod/iPhone that uses solar power, along with a bunch of DVDs.
