Jimmy took the day off to celebrate Jorge Posada's 40th birthday and will be back tomorrow. By now, you've heard about the allegations against the Miami football team, a story that has critics saying the program deserves the death penalty. Former Florida State quarterback Chris Rix, who had an alleged $5,000 bounty on his head, was glad nobody was able to cash in (though Jonathan Vilma certainly tried). My favorite part of the story is how Nevin Shapiro, the booster who spilled the beans to Yahoo! Sports, used the alias "Teddy Dupay" when he'd check into a hotel to throw prostitute parties.

Justin Masterson and the Indians passed a hat around the locker room to raise $35,000 so teammate Jack Hannahan could take a private plane back to Cleveland for the birth of his son. The light-hitting third baseman, who is making $500,000 this season, was scheduled to take the first flight out of Boston the following morning, which would've meant that he'd miss the birth.
Kobe Comes Through
Kobe Bryant (wearing No. 20) scored 45 points, including a game-winner over James Harden, to lead his team to victory last night in an L.A. Drew League game. Sadly, that might be the last Kobe game-winner you see for a while as the NBA lockout drags into its seventh week.

My favorite show, Childrens Hospital, was renewed for a fourth season. What better way to celebrate than with the lovely Malin Akerman.
Pinball Wizard
In case you find yourself wondering what happened to ex-NBA player Todd MacCulloch, he'll be competing at the World Pinball Championships this week. The former 76ers and Nets center, who owns more than 60 pinball machines, is ranked No. 193 in the world.
