21 Michigan State Spartans
Last Week: 21
Michigan State -- Big Ten champions? It hasn't happened since 1990, but that's exactly what the Spartans will be (most likely as co-champs with Ohio State) if they can pull off an upset in Happy Valley. They're 14-point underdogs.
Last game: Beat Purdue, 21-7.
Next game: Saturday at Penn State.
22 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Last Week: 20
Thursday night's game against Miami will be an interesting test for both teams. Miami's speedy defensive front suffocated Virginia Tech QB Tyrod Taylor last week, but how will they handle the Jackets' triple-option attack?
Last game: Lost to North Carolina, 28-7.
Next game: Thursday vs. Miami.
23 Cincinnati Bearcats
Last Week: 23
If, like me, you grew up in Cincinnati, Saturday's game against Pittsburgh will be extremely surreal. Once-desolate Nippert Stadium figures to be packed. Win, and the Bearcats will all but wrap up the Big East title and BCS berth.
Last game: Beat Louisville, 28-20.
Next game: Saturday vs. Pittsburgh.
24 Pittsburgh Panthers
Last Week: 22
The Panthers are 7-0 all-time against Cincinnati and have had an extra week to prepare. The game's key match-up: Star RB LeSean McCoy (115.9 yards per game) vs. Cincy's 25th-ranked rush defense (112.0 yards allowed).
Last game: Beat Louisville, 41-7.
Next game: Saturday at Cincinnati.
25 Boston College Eagles
Last Week: --
Who knew BC would produce a world-class defense? A week after shutting out Notre Dame, the Eagles went to Tallahassee and held FSU to 73 rushing yards. They also had three interceptions and lead the nation with 21.
Last game: Beat Florida State, 27-17.
Next game: Saturday at Wake Forest.

Dropped out: Virginia Tech, Florida State.
