Pitted against the tops in their states, several highly-ranked teams fell last week, but the St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) Raiders continue to rise. Up next for the Sunshine State's finest is Largo on Friday. The week's most intriguing battle may be down by the Bayou as John Curtis (River Ridge, La.) squares off with Evangel (New Orleans) for the Class 2A title.

The defending Class 5A state champions continue to roll behind tailback Ronnie Kennedy, who had a 3-yard touchdown run, a 30-yard interception return and a 92-yard punt return in a 56-14 quarterfinal win over South Fork (Stuart, Fla.).
