11Oklahoma State Cowboys
Last Week: 12
The Cowboys picked up another win at Colorado but may have suffered a costly loss. Star RB Kendall Hunter injured his leg and did not return. At least he has an extra week to recover before the Bedlam game against Oklahoma.
Last game: Beat Colorado, 30-17.
Next game: Nov. 29 vs. Oklahoma.
12Georgia Bulldogs
Last Week: 10
Another week, another huge touchdown catch by A.J. Green, whose 17-yard touchdown with 8:24 left put Georgia ahead to stay. In another recurring theme, the Dawgs racked up penalties (nine) and struggled to beat an inferior foe.
Last game: Beat Auburn, 17-13.
Next game: Nov. 29 vs. Georgia Tech.
13Missouri Tigers
Last Week: 13
While the race for the Big 12 South title remains in flux, the Tigers have wrapped up the North Division for a second straight season. RB Derrick Washington notched his first 100-yard game since Oct. 4 in a rout at Iowa State.
Last game: Beat Iowa State, 52-20.
Next game: Nov. 29 vs. Kansas.
14TCU Horned Frogs
Last Week: 14
The Horned Frogs can claim a share of the Mountain West title if they beat Air Force this week and if BYU beats Utah. They'll also be jostling for bowl position with the 8-3 Falcons. The Poinsettia Bowl seems their likely destination.
Last game: Lost to Utah, 13-10.
Next game: Saturday vs. Air Force.
15Ball State Cardinals
Last Week: 18
Gather around the TV sets Wednesday night, folks, as the Cardinals take on division co-leader Central Michigan (8-2, 6-0 MAC). A win keeps them alive for a BCS berth. A loss knocks them out of the MAC championship game.
Last game: Beat Miami (Ohio), 31-16.
Next game: Wednesday at Central Michigan.
16Brigham Young Cougars
Last Week: 19
The Cougars' preseason BCS dreams seemed dashed when they lost to TCU. But remarkably, a win over Utah and a loss by Boise State would likely get them into the show. (They're ahead of Ball State in the BCS standings.)
Last game: Beat Air Force, 38-24.
Next game: Saturday at Utah.
17Oregon State Beavers
Last Week: 24
The excitement is mounting in Corvallis: Two wins from Pasadena. Students camped out for Civil War tickets Sunday night. Is it good or bad coach Mike Riley admits that thinking of his team's Rose Bowl possibility "scares me?"
Last game: Beat Cal, 34-21.
Next game: Saturday at Arizona.
18LSU Tigers
Last Week: 17
Life is never dull with the Tigers. After Jarrett Lee threw his seventh pick-six of the season, freshman Jordan Jefferson came in and fared no better. So Lee returned, and LSU, down 31-3, made the biggest comeback in school history.
Last game: Beat Troy, 40-31.
Next game: Saturday vs. Ole Miss.
19Maryland Terrapins
Last Week: --
The Terps became the only team in the country to beat four ranked teams this season with a scrappy defensive effort against North Carolina. On the downside, this week's foe, Florida State, is no longer a ranked team.
Last game: Beat North Carolina, 17-15.
Next game: Saturday vs. Florida State.
20North Carolina Tar Heels
Last Week: 15
It's hardly ideal to reopen your quarterback competition 10 games into the season, but that's what Butch Davis is doing now that T.J. Yates is back from an ankle injury and six-game replacement Cam Sexton struggled against Maryland.
Last game: Lost to Maryland, 17-15.
Next game: Saturday vs. N.C. State.
1 - 10 11 - 20 21 - 25
