VAL DI FIEMME, Italy (AP) Therese Johaug and Martin Johnsrud Sundby became the first Norwegians to win the Tour de Ski as they both claimed victory in Sunday's seventh and final stage.

Johaug had started 23 seconds behind compatriot Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen but was by far the strongest on the final climb on the nine-kilometer course up Mount Cermis. The last stage was a pursuit, with Jacobsen starting first as the overall leader based on results over the previous six stages.

The 25-year-old Johaug clocked 34 minutes, 19.8 seconds to beat Jacobsen by 20.4 seconds in the overall standings. Heidi Weng finished third as Norway became the first country to grab all three podium places in the Tour.

"It's a dream come true for me," Johaug said. "It is amazing to become the first Norwegian to win the Tour even better when Astrid and Heidi could join me on the podium.

"It was a tough conditions today, I had to work hard with my legs and arms. I tried to push all the way and to keep the distance on Astrid."

In the men's event, Sundby started with a 30-second advantage over fellow Norwegian Petter Northug and he crossed the line in 32 minutes, 49.6 seconds to complete a remarkable day for Norway.

Compatriot Chris Jespersen was second in his first Tour de Ski attempt, with Johannes Duerr of Austria beating Northug to third to prevent another clean sweep for the Norwegians.

Duerr was in fifth place at the start of the stage.

With the points earned for their Tour victories, Johaug and Sundby now also lead the overall World Cup.
