Brittney Garner has become the first female high school football head coach in Tennessee after she was named the new head football coach at Pickett County High School in Tennessee, Examiner.com reports.

The former head coach at the school was dismissed, and Garner, who is also the head softball coach at the school, was hired to replace him.

Garner played both basketball and softball when she attended the same high school, where she graduated in 2007.

The Bobcats won their first game of the season, but have lost three straight games, including the first since Garner joined the team last Friday.
