So much for the top-ranked Tide looking ahead to Auburn, and so much for their two-game losing streak to the Bulldogs. On Saturday, Rolando McClain and the Alabama defense allowed only 167 net yards.

No, Percy Harvin and the Gators aren't the top-ranked team in the country in the polls or BCS standings -- it only seems like it, especially after the 50-point shellacking over Steve Spurrier's club.

No. 4 Texas 35, Kansas 7
QB Colt McCoy had no trouble jumping for joy over the Longhorns' decisive road victory. On the day, McCoy accounted for three scores and 333 total yards.

No. 6 USC 45, Stanford 23
It took a while to happen, but Stafon Johnson (115 rushing yards, 2 TDs) and the Trojans got a measure of revenge for their stunning '07 loss to the Cardinal. USC still has a good shot at the Rose Bowl, although it'll need an eventual loss from Oregon State.

No. 7 Penn State 34, Indiana 7
Fans of Graham Zug and the Nittany Lions don't need to take a giant leap of faith with the team's Rose Bowl chances. By simply beating Michigan State at home next week, Penn State would clinch a trip to Pasadena on Jan. 1.

No. 8 Utah 63, San Diego State 14
Utes QB Brian Johnson wasted little time against the hapless Aztecs, throwing for five TDs and 283 yards in his team's landslide win. Next up for Utah: the showdown with BYU.

No. 9 Boise State 45, Idaho 10
Life is good for Jeremy Avery (156 rushing yards, 2 TDs) and the Broncos right now. The team is riding high at 10-0, with two games against Nevada and Fresno State standing in their way from a likely BCS bid.

No. 10 Ohio State 30, Illinois 20
He may be listed as a freshman, but Terrelle Pryor has played way beyond his years of late. He accounted for two scores and ran for 110 yards on Saturday in Champaign as the Buckeyes got some revenge from last year's stunning defeat (when Pryor was still in high school).

No. 11 Oklahoma State 30, Colorado 17
Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant (right) has taken some heat for only producing in home games (15 TDs when playing in Stillwater). On Saturday in Boulder, the explosive pass-catcher (4 catches, 82 yards) scored his first away-touchdown of the season.

No. 12 Missouri 52, Iowa State 20
Yes, the Big 12 has Michael Crabtree ... but don't forget about Jeremy Maclin, either. The sophomore stud hauled in eight catches for 103 yards and 1 TD in the Tigers' road romp against the Cyclones.

No. 13 Georgia 17, Auburn 13
Could this be Matt Stafford's final game against Auburn? The junior quarterback (215 yards, 2 TDs) could easily be the No. 1 pick in April's NFL draft (Detroit? Kansas City?) -- should he choose to enter the professional ranks one year early.

No. 14 Ball State 31, Miami-Ohio 16
Darius Hill (4 catches, 70 yards, 1 TD) and the 10-0 Cardinals have their biggest hurdle to clear on Wednesday: a road date with Central Michigan that'll determine the MAC West champ.

No. 16 BYU 38, Air Force 24
Pass-catchers Dennis Pitta (left) and Austin Collie caught a combined 16 balls for 243 yards and two touchdowns in the Cougars' road win in Colorado Springs. BYU has its showdown with No. 8 Utah next week.

Maryland 17, No. 17 North Carolina 15
Da'Rel Scott (129 yards rushing, 1 TD) gets a much-needed boost after the Terrapins' upset home win. With two more victories, Maryland would advance to the ACC title game.

No. 19 LSU 40, Troy 31
How close did Charles Scott and LSU come to losing a home game to a Sun Belt school? The Tigers needed all of their 30 fourth-quarter points to stave off the major upset.

Boston College 27, No. 20 Florida State 17
There was nothing spectacular about Chris Crane's performance in Tallahassee. But the quarterback (181 yards passing, 1 TD) did plenty to ensure his team's road upset of the depleted-by-suspension Seminoles.

No. 22 Cincinnati 28, Louisville 20
The Bearcats' Orange Bowl quest is alive and well after the team's road win at Louisville. Next up for Tony Pike (250 passing yards, 2 TDs) and Cincy -- a date with Pittsburgh that could decide the Big East champion.

No. 23 Oregon State 34, California 21
There's no fuzzy math involved with the Beavers' Rose Bowl chances. RB Jacquizz Rodgers (144 rushing yards, 1 TD) and OSU need to win at Arizona and beat Oregon in the Civil War to earn a BCS bid.

Houston 70, No. 25 Tulsa 30
Hindsight is always 20-20, of course. Still, it's hard to believe the Cougars were big home underdogs leading into their clash with Tulsa. Some four hours later, Tyron Carrier (7 catches, 133 yards, 2 TDs) walked away with a crushing 40-point victory.
