The Boston Celtics will sign free agent swingman Sasha Pavlovic for the rest of the season, a league source told SI.com.
Pavlovic, 27, played in 14 games with New Orleans and Dallas this season, averaging 3.2 points on 37.0 percent shooting. In eight seasons, Pavlovic has averaged 5.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
Pavlovic will be the second free agent signing for Boston this week. On Wednesday, the Celtics signed power forward Troy Murphy for the rest of the season to bolster the front line that was depleted by the losses of Kendrick Perkins and Semih Erden at the traded deadline. Pavlovic is expected to back up Paul Pierce and Ray Allen for the rest of the season.
