The NBA's Board of Governors is expected to quickly approve the $2 billion sale of the Los Angeles Clippers to former Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer (above), reports USA Today.

A probate court ruled on Monday that Clippers co-owner Shelly Sterling had the authority to sell the team to Ballmer. Donald Sterling has two weeks to file an objection to the ruling but can't stop the sale.

According to the report, Shelly Sterling and Ballmer had planned on a target date of Aug. 15 to complete the transaction.
