The final play unfolded with Brandon Jennings going left from the top of the key. As he approached the left block, Jennings lofted up a shot off the backboard that hit the rim and bounced off. Drummond was well-positioned for the follow attempt. He succeeded in tipping in the putback with 0.3 seconds remaining to send the Pistons bench into a jubilant celebration.
Drummond finished with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Jennings led all scorers with 37 points and three assists.
Detroit improved to 15-25 overall and 10-2 since Christmas. Indiana fell to 15-26.
