Two fans seated courtside at Washington's 114-77 home victory over Brooklyn on Saturday got a little more than they bargained for thanks to Mason Plumlee, a coutside server, and a tray of beers.
With roughly one minute remaining in the first quarter and Washington leading 28-18, Plumlee chased a loose ball into the right corner. Unfortunately, the unsuspecting courtside attendant was in the process of handing out a tray full of brews in the very same corner. Plumlee attempted to hold up his momentum but wound up lightly pushing the attendant's waist, knocking her off-kilter and sending the beer everywhere. A pair of fans, male and female, were doused, and it took a pile of towels to clean up all the liquid.
The Verizon Center crowd would later boo Plumlee for initiating the messy chain reaction.
Washington won going away, as six Wizards players finished in double figures. John Wall led the way with a team-high 17 points and seven assists. Rasual Butler added 15 points and four assists off the bench.
Brook Lopez led the Nets with a game-high 19 points and eight assists. Plumlee finished with six points and seven rebounds.
Washington improved to 32-20. Brooklyn fell to 21-29.
