MIAMI (AP) All-Star forward Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat has been released from a South Florida hospital following a weeklong stay for treatment after blood clots were found on one of his lungs.

The Heat say Bosh went home Friday. The team made the announcement Saturday before playing the Atlanta Hawks.

Bosh will miss at least the rest of the season because of the health scare, which was diagnosed after he played with pain in his side and back for several days. His final game was the NBA All-Star contest in New York two weeks ago, and he went to a hospital for evaluation after being stricken by severe pain while vacationing days later.

Bosh averaged 21.1 points and 7 rebounds for the Heat this season.
