Warriors coach Steve Kerr admits lying about Game 4 starting lineup
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr says he lied about who was going to start in Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
Before the game, Kerr indicated that Golden State would go with its usual starting five: guard Stephen Curry, guard Klay Thompson, forward Draymond Green, forward Harrison Barnes and center Andrew Bogut.
But when the starting lineups were announced at game time, Andre Iguodala got the start over Bogut. Iguodala came off the bench in the Warriors' other 100 games this season before Thursday night.
Kerr said revealing his strategies before the game is the equivalent to knocking on Cavaliers coach David Blatt’s door and telling him the game plan.

“I lied. I have two press conferences on the day of the game and I am asked a lot strategic questions,” Kerr said. “My options were tell the truth or evade the question and start this Twitter phenomenon or lie. So I lied.”
Iguodala responded with 22 points and eight rebounds in 39 minutes to help the Warriors beat Cleveland 103-82 and tied the best-of-seven series at two games apiece. Game 5 is Sunday in Oakland.

Kerr said he had no problems lying if it could help his team get back in the series.
"Sorry, but I don't think they hand you the trophy based on morality," Kerr said. "They give it to you if you win. So sorry about that."
