Report: NBA draft prospect Michael Qualls tears ACL during workouts

Former Arkansas guard and NBA draft prospect Michael Qualls has sustained a torn ACL, reports Draft Express' Jonathan Givony.

Qualls sustained the injury during workouts and will be out for six to 12 months, according to Givony. Dr. James Andrews will perform surgery on his knee.

According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, the injury came during Qualls' first time workout with the Phoenix Suns last Thursday. 

On Sunday, Qualls tweeted “Minor setback for craziest come back you've ever seen.”

Qualls declared for the NBA draft in April, forgoing his final year of eligibility at Arkansas. He averaged 15.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists for the Razorbacks as a junior.

This year's NBA draft will be held on June 25. The Minnesota Timberwolves hold the No. 1 pick.
